Two Royal Society Proceedings papers were published in 1934. Haldane soon followed Hogben’s lead, and then Fisher followed with his efficient maximum-likelihood method and Penrose with his 1935 sib-pair method. Hogben’s interest then seems to have waned. He was distracted by illness (during which he wrote Mathematics for the Million) and in 1937 left London for Aberdeen.
